The vale of atholl pipe band

pipeband

The Vale of Atholl Pipers’ Association SCIO is a charity registered in Scotland and comprises two pipe bands, playing at Grade 3A and Grade 4B levels in Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (RSPBA) competitions and Highland Games throughout the summer months.

The bands draw membership from around Scotland but mostly from within Perthshire. The Vale has always had a strong tradition of ‘growing its own’ top quality players, whilst also attracting a wide range of pipers and drummers from other areas, drawn by the exciting music of the band and the ambition of the leadership team.

The bands practice in Perth and Pitlochry throughout the year.

The structure of the bands playing at different levels enables players to develop, with commitment and a lot of hard work, from beginner through to Grade 1 standard. The talent of the players in the bands is in ready supply with many of today’s young Vale players regularly featuring in the prize lists of many solo piping competitions.
